About the workshop

In this workshop, Sebastian Schwenke will explain what role business angels play in the fundraising ecosystem and how to find the right angels for your startup. He will also walk you through the whole fundraising process and share some insights and tips on how to approach and communicate with potential investors successfully. Also, he will explain what Angels will expect from you and what you can expect from them as an investor in return and the (emotional) differences between angel and VC money.

Your expert

As managing director of BACB (Managing Director of Business Angel Club Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) Sebastian Schwenke runs the association’s operations and connects startups with business angels on a daily basis. He has facilitated over 50 startup investments with a volume >7M€, held 30+ startup workshops and helped over 25 “virgin-angels” to successfully invest their first venture capital.

Sebastian gained experience as a founder in the events industry and is an active pre-seed investor with FOBS Bet. GmbH and the Berlin Angel Fund. Among others, he supports the startups Aumio, Rausgegangen, BerlinGreen, Captiq and re:ignite as advisor and investor.

 

About BACB e.V.

The Business Angels Club berlin-Brandenburg e.V. is the largest business angels network in the metropolitan area Berlin. Its 130 members invest on average 3M€ into 20-30 pre-seed startups per year and support over 200 startups as mentors and advisors on a voluntary basis. BACB is among the largest and most active angel networks in Germany and is a member of “BAE Club” by Business Angels Europe.

Participation

The workshop takes place on-site at the Startup Incubator Berlin, located at the Berlin “Zukunftsort” Siemensstadt Square, just a few steps away from the U7 subway station Rohrdamm.

Registration is possible here until Monday, Jan. 29th at 3 p.m., the number of participants is limited to 20 people. Please let us know early if you registered, but will be unable to attend. That way, we can accomodate attendees on the waiting list.

Due to the required registration at the gate and the access route to your workshop room, we ask participants to arrive no later than 15:45 h at the reception gate of our location (Rohrdamm 88, 13629 Berlin-Siemensstadt) where you will be met by our staff. A photo ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.) is required for access to the Siemens factory premises.

The workshop is free of charge for all participants, as it is publicly funded. For administrative purposes, our sponsors require enrollment in our participants’ lists (with full name, e-mail address, signature) on site.
