Virtual/Augmented Reality Lab
The Startup Incubator Berlin provides access to a state-of-the-art VR/AR Lab. In the development environment, startups have the possibility to try themselves out, do research, and push innovation. The “XDEC” was opened in spring 2019 and is located on the Siemens site at Rohrdamm 88 as part of Siemens’ new VR/AR training strategy. The Access to the XDEC is a vivid example of the long-standing cooperation between the Startup Incubator Berlin and Siemens AG.
Virtual Reality Lab
The XDEC in Berlin Spandau offers the opportunity to experience and above all to design virtual and augmented reality on 300m2. In cooperation with the Startup Incubator Berlin, startups can now benefit from a training and development environment that consists of three different ready-to-use VR chambers. Because there are many creative possibilities, the technology can be used for different application areas.
Virtual Reality (VR) is a real-time computer-generated, interactive virtual environment in which the user experiences the simulation with the help of a 360-degree camera.
Augmented Reality (AR) is a real-time computer-generated, interactive virtual environment that adds a virtual feature to reality. Using Augmented Reality, training can be carried out very easily, e.g. on large turbines.
