Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Lean Startup Sprint?

A two-week onsite program in which you develop your startup idea into a proof of concept: build a prototype, validate your assumptions and draft a first, viable business model — supported by startup coaches and experts.

What if I don’t have a prototype or product yet?

Perfect — that’s exactly what the sprint is for. We help you turn your idea into a first prototype.

What if I don’t have any first customers yet?

No problem. We help you identify your target group and build a “Minimum Viable Product” (MVP) you can use to test your first assumptions.

What if I’m still on my own?

Building a startup works better as a team. Over the two weeks you’ll meet other aspiring founders — you might find your co-founders right here.

What are the requirements?

Residence in Berlin, a valid visa and a company that has not yet been founded. No prior experience is needed — the sprint is open to all new startups, regardless of their stage.

How much does it cost to take part?

Participation is free of charge.

What language is the sprint run in?

The sprint and all formats are run entirely in English.

How much time should I plan for?

Two weeks onsite at CIC Berlin. For the certificate, at least 50% attendance is required; the first day (onboarding) is mandatory.

When is the next sprint and how do I apply? The next sprint runs from September 14, 2026 to September 24, 2026. Applications are open now — deadline is August 23, 2026 — via the “Apply now” button on this page.
What happens after the sprint?

You finish the sprint with a sharpened concept and a prototype or proof of concept. With sufficient attendance, you also receive a certificate of participation.
