2. Legal bases for processing
As a rule, personal data is processed on this website only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services.
Consent: Where we obtain consent from the data subject for processing operations, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
Public task: For processing that is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 6 of the Berlin Data Protection Act (BlnDSG) and Section 4 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG).
3. Provision of the website and creation of log files
Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing device. The following data is collected:
Information about the browser type and version used
The operating system of the user
The IP address of the user (anonymised by deleting the last octet)
Date and time of access
Websites from which the user’s system reaches our website (referrer)
This data is stored in the log files of our system. It is not stored together with any other personal data of the user. The legal basis for the temporary storage of this data and of the log files is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 6 BlnDSG. Log files are deleted after seven days at the latest.
4. Use of cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in or by the internet browser on the user’s computer system.
Technically necessary cookies: We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly (for example session identification). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 6 BlnDSG.
Cookies that are not technically necessary: These are loaded only after your express consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw your settings at any time through our consent management system.
5. Web analytics
No analytics services (such as Google Analytics or Matomo) are used on this website to track user behaviour. No usage profiles are created.
6. Newsletter
If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided. Processing takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. No dispatch via US service providers takes place. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
7. External services (for example Google Maps)
We embed content from third-party providers in order to improve our information offering. To protect your data, this is done by means of a two-click solution (lazy loading). Data such as your IP address is transmitted to the third-party provider only once you explicitly activate the content by clicking on it. The legal basis for providing these functions is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (e) GDPR, in order to facilitate access to our locations.
8. Rights of the data subject
If your personal data is processed, you are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
