HWR Berlin Startup Incubator Berlin
For alumni & community

Once SIB,
always connected.

Your network doesn’t end with the program. Stay part of a community that grows together.

A graduation, the end of a program, or the close of a funding period are not a final line. Anyone who once founded, took part or thought along here stays part of the Startup Incubator Berlin. This page is for everyone who wants to come back with experience, professional practice and a network: to work on a new idea, to pass on their knowledge, or simply to stay visible and connected.

You don’t have to prove anything new and you don’t have to bring a fresh idea. Some come back with a second startup, others as a mentor for the next cohort, and others because they’re looking for a team or offering one. We organise our Events & Workshops, the portfolio and the direct line through Network & Contact so that each of these paths stays open.

Stay involved

Come back to pitch nights, workshops and community events, or take a structured run at a new idea.

Give back

As a mentor, speaker or sparring partner, pass on what helped you along your own way.

Stay visible

Your team belongs in the portfolio and in the SIB’s class archive, so your story stays findable.

What alumni and the community find here

Many alumni no longer know the current programs, even though they bring exactly what makes founding easier: industry knowledge, real problems from everyday working life and a network that has grown over time. That’s why there is no fixed path, but several points to plug in, depending on where you stand right now. If you want to start a company again, a short message through Network & Contact is the easiest entry point to clarify your phase, the requirements and the right format. Teams may be mixed in the process, including external co-founders.

The community thrives not on individual events, but on something staying behind from them. Anyone who comes back to our Events & Workshops meets current founders, passes on experience and takes home new impulses themselves. And in the portfolio, individual logos turn into a coherent archive: it makes the development of the SIB visible across the years and ensures that your startup can still be found later, by potential partners, customers and the next generation of founders.

  1. Stay involved Book yourself a slot from the Events & Workshops or register a new idea through Network & Contact, with a few words on your degree program or program, the timing and the stage of your idea.
  2. Give back Tell us whether you want to plug in as a mentor, speaker or sparring partner. Even without an idea of your own, you are valuable to the next cohort as someone who shares their experience.
  3. Stay visible Check your entry in the portfolio and get in touch if the logo, description or status should be updated, so your profile stays complete and findable.

Frequently asked questions

Does my graduation or the end of my program have to be recent?

No. For advice, network and community, a later return makes sense too. Whether a specific program fits your situation is best clarified directly through Network & Contact.

I don’t have a new idea, is this page still worth it?

Yes. You can plug in as a mentor, speaker or co-founder, come to our Events & Workshops or simply stay visible in the network. Many valuable contributions come from people who share their experience rather than start a company themselves.

Can I come back with external co-founders?

Yes, teams can be mixed. What matters is the stage of your idea, the requirements and the fit with the respective offer, not the question of whether everyone on the team has a connection to HWR.

How do I get into the portfolio or have my entry updated?

First check whether your team is already in the portfolio. If something is missing or out of date, let us know through Network & Contact. Only what has been approved is published.

How can I get involved as a mentor?

Get in touch briefly through Network & Contact and name your topics and your preferred format. Mentoring ranges from a one-off sparring session to accompanying individual teams across a whole cohort.

Ready?

Let’s talk about your idea.

Whether it’s half an idea or a concrete plan — write to us, and together we’ll find the right way in for you.
