Horus Prosthetics develops a low-cost knee joint (target price around 300 EUR) manufactured using 3D laser-cutting technology. It is distributed via a subscription model: patients pay a fixed monthly fee and receive the prosthesis, service, and lifelong maintenance. The target group is above-knee amputees in developing countries, starting in Peru, who can afford neither high one-time costs nor insurance.
