The Berlin Startup Scholarship (BSS) supports innovative, knowledge-based startup projects in Berlin – for teams of 1–4 people (women-majority) with an initial prototype and main residence in Berlin. Funding: €2,500 per person/month for 6 months plus coaching, mentoring and coworking. Allow about 30–45 min – you can jump between steps at any time.

Selection by degree of innovation, market potential, team qualification and societal relevance. Competitive process – completeness counts. Exclusion: existing companies or previous EXIST/BSS funding.

💬 Who can apply?

Teams of 1–4 people with a women-majority, main residence in Berlin and a first prototype – in the pre-incorporation phase. Already incorporated companies and previous EXIST or BSS funding are excluded.

Now it’s about the people. For each founder you provide contact & address, education and the documents – CV, graduation certificate and registration/ID – plus a short signed self-declaration. Exactly as many person sections appear as you entered in the „Team“ step. Reminder: more than half of the team must be women.

💬 Must all team members have their main residence in Berlin?

Yes – main residence in Berlin is a funding requirement for all supported founders. A secondary residence is not enough.

💬 We have foreign degrees or certificates – is that OK?
