Der Bachelor Entrepreneurship ist ein grundständiger Studiengang der HWR Berlin (Fachbereich 1 Wirtschaftswissenschaften): sieben Semester, 210 ECTS, Vollzeit, auf Deutsch und Englisch. Das Besondere: Du lernst nicht nur, wie Unternehmen funktionieren – du lernst, sie zu gründen, zu verändern und weiterzuentwickeln. Schon ab dem ersten Semester arbeitest du in vier aufeinander aufbauenden Entrepreneurship-Projekten an eigenen Ideen – von der Ideenentwicklung über das Geschäftsmodell bis zur Umsetzung. Das fünfte Semester ist ein Praxissemester – in einem Unternehmen, in einem Startup oder im eigenen Vorhaben. Studiengebühren fallen keine an, nur der Semesterbeitrag.

At the HWR Berlin University Day, on 28 May 2026, you will gain practical insights into start-up programmes from 10:30 to 12:00 (in room B 4.01) and have the opportunity to exchange ideas with startups from the Startup Incubator Berlin (SIB) – the entrepreneurship centre of HWR Berlin.
Entrepreneurship is highly valued at HWR Berlin: numerous alumni have built successful companies, making use of the incubator’s offerings along the way.
Among other things, the Startup Incubator Berlin provides co-working spaces at the CIC near Görlitzer Park, where founders work together and learn from one another. The offering is complemented by workshops, events and funding programmes that accompany the journey from idea to market readiness.

Berlin, 13 April 2026 – Starting today, entrepreneurs can apply for a Berlin Startup Scholarship at the Startup Incubator Berlin (SIB), the entrepreneurship center of the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin). The center is part of the new funding round of the programme, which supports startups in bridging the pre-founding and market-entry phases and advancing their business ideas under reliable conditions.
HWR Berlin has been allocated approximately €3.2 million in the current funding round, financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the State of Berlin.

With the Berlin Startup Scholarship, founding teams can focus fully on their business idea for six months — financially secured with €2,500 per month and intensively mentored by our coaching team. Over the next three years, we will support 86 scholarship recipients across five cohorts on their way to starting their own company. How do I become an entrepreneur & how does prototyping work via 3D scan & printing?
After the welcome, we’ll kick things off with a Design Thinking workshop. Your task will be to develop a prototype. The theme is: “Design a phone holder” (one that doesn’t exist yet). Afterwards, you will “produce” your product in clay in our workshop and learn the basics of 3D scanning and 3D printing. You will also find out how to best plan the founding of your own company and have the opportunity to meet our female founders from the program.
We will send your clay product to you later as a 3D print. This will take approximately 4 weeks.

At the FemaleCapital Pitch Night on December 16, 2024, female founders will present their promising startups at the Ullsteinhaus in Berlin – at the new location of the Startup Incubator Berlin.
Berlin women investing in Berlin female founders – that is the FemaleCapital initiative, launched by encourageventures with the support of the Berlin Senate for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, celebrating its Berlin premiere this year. As part of the encourageventures Academy, Berlin women were trained as investors. The focus was not only on sound foundational knowledge about angel investment, but also on mentoring and community building.
Pitch Night: A Stage for Female Founders
The highlight of the initiative is the FemaleCapital Pitch Night on December 16, 2024, which will be officially opened by Franziska Giffey, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. At the FemaleCapital Pitch Night, six selected female founders from across Berlin will present their exciting business ideas to secure investment, including the SIB EXIST Founding Scholarship Team Deepfile, which has already made it into the Top 10 at the Innovation Award Berlin Brandenburg.
A Strong Network for Female Founders
Especially for female founders, investor networks are a valuable opportunity to specifically seek contact with the still scarce number of female business angels. A strong ecosystem in Berlin strengthens not only the visibility of female investors, but also the prospects for innovative ideas and projects by women.
Ullsteinhaus: A Dual Founding Hub
The FemaleCapital Pitch Night is at the same time a preview of upcoming developments at this location: From January 2025, the Startup Incubator Berlin (SIB), the founding center of the Berlin School of Economics and Law, will relocate to the Ullsteinhaus. Together with The Drivery – the global ecosystem for mobility innovation – the SIB brings its many years of experience in startup support and is specifically expanding its focus on supporting female founders. This includes practice-oriented workshops and coaching to impart founding knowledge, dedicated spaces for founding teams, and a prototyping and multimedia lab. In addition, the SIB’s network for early-stage founding support and its scholarship programs complement The Drivery’s offering. In particular, the new Berlin Startup Scholarship Women and the EXIST Women Program offer the SIB’s tailored support for female founders.
An Ecosystem for More Innovation
The investor network encourageventures aims, together with the Berlin Senate for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and other partners in the startup ecosystem, to create a more inclusive, innovative and dynamic investment landscape from which the economy and society as a whole will benefit. Through close collaboration with policymakers, business angels, startups and the entire environment can be sustainably strengthened. Policymakers set the framework conditions that enable innovation and growth, startups act as drivers of technological and economic development, and business angels contribute capital, contacts and know-how. On October 11th and 12th we joined the deGut – German Founders’ and Entrepreneurship Days trade fair, a comprehensive platform for aspiring entrepreneurs and for gaining insights on how to found a business. A big part of the program during this both days was dedicated to female entrepreneurship and empowerment.
This year we were very fortunate since we had the possibility to exhibit together with Grace Accelerator and avant now since we are the three selected incubators that are able to offer the Berlin Startup Scholarship Women. The scholarships are intended to support around 60 female founders. They will receive funding of up to 2,200 euros per month /per person for 9 months (at the Startup Incubator Berlin, duration differs) during the start-up phase.
Katrin Jahnke from SIB had the honor to receive the official grant notice personally from our Senator for Economic Affairs Franziska Giffey on stage and two of our female founders who just joined the program, Daria Trints with Periodly and Katharina Schultz-Ebert with Unite had the chance to pitch their startup idea with great support from the female founders community from the SIB and the whole ecosystem!
We are very proud and thankful that we are able to empower future female founders and non-binary persons with such a program and more to come.
